The W̱SÁNEĆ Nation governs on behalf of the Tsartlip, Tsawout, Tseycum, and Pauquachin First Nations on the Saanich Peninsula of southern Vancouver Island. Speakers of SENĆOŦEN, the W̱SÁNEĆ — 'the Emerging People' — steward the islands, reefs, and waters of the southern Salish Sea through their reef-net fishing tradition and the W̱SÁNEĆ legal order.
